Port McNicoll has really become a home away from home for our Ontario Songwriter Getaways. There’s just something very special about writing songs while the waters of Georgian Bay gently lap outside the door. We love the house. We love the neighbours. We love the beautiful moments we’ve had there, and we can’t wait to hear what songs are written in this beautiful space this fall.
Our Songwriter Getaways always have a great mix of returning songwriters and new guests. It is a welcoming and supportive environment for all levels of songwriters from total beginners to seasoned pros. You’ll head home from the weekend with new insights on the songwriting process, feedback on your original songs, and a group of new friends who quickly bond over shared meals and music.

Day Passes allow songwriters to attend all workshops and meals, but does not include lodging.
Non-Songwriting Partners share a bed in a single room with a songwriter. They are welcome to join in meals and evening song circles.
SONGWRITER RETREAT LODGING
The numerous bedrooms at the property offer a wide range of sleeping arrangements whether you’re interested in having your own room or sharing a room with a same-gender songwriter. You may also bring along a non-songwriting partner to share a single room. Non-songwriting partners are welcome to share in all meals.
Note: Once you’ve selected a room type on the registration form, you must click Attendee Information to complete the registration and provide dietary restrictions so we can plan meals accordingly.
DAY PASS – If you’re not staying in the house, the Day Pass option entitles attendees to all the workshops, food and fun of the getaway. There are great hotels and Airbnbs nearby. See below for some options.
SONGWRITER GETAWAY SCHEDULE
Friday – Join us in Port McNicoll for arrival snacks anytime after 4pm. Dinner will be served at 7pm. Spend the evening getting to know your fellow songwriters in a campfire-style singalong.
Saturday – Breakfast will be served at 9am. Songwriting workshops begin at 10am. Throughout the day, songwriters will take part in group songwriting lessons. There will also be time to relax and write on your own. Book an appointment with Murray Foster to get one-on-one feedback on your songs. A buffet lunch and a full dinner will be provided. In the evening, songwriters will share new songs and enjoy another evening singalong.
Sunday – Breakfast will be served by 9am before one final songshare. Depart at 11am.
Non-alcoholic beverages are provided at all meals, but you are welcome to BYOB.
We are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions.
While all meals are provided, if you wish to bring along a snack, beverages or a side dish for the group, it will be gratefully accepted.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Participants who cancel one month before the getaway will receive a full refund minus a $100 cancellation fee.
If a participants cancels after October 1, the participant will receive a 50% refund.
